Minty Finance is an educational market simulator designed to teach teens, students, and young adults foundational financial literacy, portfolio compounding, and stock market dynamics without risking real money.

We believe in minimal data collection. We only collect the following categories of information necessary to deliver and authenticate your learning experience:
- Phone Number & Authentication Credentials: When you register or sign in, we collect your phone number to send a 6-digit One-Time Password (OTP) via Google Firebase Phone Authentication to verify your identity.
- Profile Information: Your display name, chosen user handle, optional email address, and avatar selections.
- Gamification & Educational Progress: Current XP level, streak days, completed lessons, earned badges, quiz answers, and virtual leaderboard rankings.
- Simulated Financial Holdings: Starting virtual cash balance (₹1,00,000), simulated equity portfolio holdings, virtual trade history, and simulated profit/loss calculations. (No real bank accounts, credit cards, or demat accounts are ever linked or accessed).
- Device & Diagnostic Information: Operating system version, app version, network connectivity status, and crash logs to maintain app stability and optimize performance.
3. How We Use Your Information
The information collected is used exclusively for:
- Authenticating your phone session and preventing unauthorized access.
- Syncing your virtual portfolio, learning progress, and badges across devices.
- Powering the real-time simulation engine and leaderboard metrics.
- Diagnosing technical bugs and improving user experience.
4. Third-Party Services & Infrastructure
To provide secure authentication and cloud database synchronization, we utilize certified third-party service providers who adhere to strict data security standards:
- Google Firebase Authentication: To deliver SMS OTP codes and verify phone numbers securely.
- Google Cloud Firestore: To store encrypted profile data and simulated trade ledgers.
- Google Play Services: For secure app distribution, crash reporting, and automatic updates.
5. Data Security & Storage
All data transmitted between the Minty Finance app and backend servers is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / HTTPS). Database records in Google Cloud are encrypted at rest with industry-standard AES-256 encryption. Access to user records is guarded by strict Firebase Security Rules that ensure only the authenticated user can access their own account details.
6. Children's Privacy (Under 18 / COPPA / DPDP)
Minty Finance is designed as an educational tool for teens and students. We do not collect behavioral tracking data, precise GPS location, or targeted advertising identifiers from any user. Because no real money transactions take place, the environment remains completely safe for teenage learners.
7. Account & Data Deletion (Google Play Mandate)
In accordance with Google Play's Data Safety and Account Deletion Policy, you have the full right to delete your account and all associated personal and simulation data at any time:
- In-App Deletion: Go to Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account.
- Web Portal Deletion: You can submit a deletion request via our Account Deletion Web Portal.
- Email Request: Email us at support@mintyfinance.app with your registered phone number.
Upon receiving your request, all personal information, phone records, XP points, and virtual trade logs are permanently and irreversibly purged from our database within 48 hours.
8. Permissions Used by the App
Minty Finance requests only essential Android permissions:
